Memorial Ride of Silence – May 27th

When: Saturday, May 27 at 9am

Where: Meet at Target Store parking lot – 100 Hookele St., KahuluiBicyclists are encouraged to join Maui Bicycling League for a Memorial Ride of Silence to honor bicyclists who have been killed or injured while riding. The group will ride in silence, 12 mph maximum, and wear white shirts/jerseys to honor those bicyclists. Those cyclists with headlights or tail lights on their bikes will be asked to ride with them on. The ride begins promptly at 9 am from the Target parking lot, traveling to N. Kihei and back to Target, for a total of about 13 miles.

Donations of washed fruit, baked goods, and water are being sought for refreshments at the end of the ride. For more information, to volunteer and to sign up, please email maui@hbl.org.  All organized rides are free for MBL members. Non-members and visitors are invited to join the ride but are asked to consider joining MBL or make a small donation to help fund the organization’s efforts for more bicycle pathways and bike lanes on Maui.

Polo Beach Public Parking Lot – 4400 Makena Road, Makena
1. A beginner/intermediate & fat-tire 3.2-mile ride to Makena Landing and back.
2. A longer 10-mile touring bike ride to Ahihi-Kina’u Natural Area Reserve and back.
Refreshments, food and juice, will be served around 10 a.m. at end of ride at Polo Beach picnic tables next to parking lot. Check out the event on Facebook!
