Let’s join together and speak out now for funding of the West Maui Greenway!

Urgent Action Alert: Please review ASAP On Tuesday April 12, we need you to let County budget decision makers know that you support funding for the West Maui Greenway in 2017.

We urgently need you to join us on Tuesday, April 12 at 10 am at the Maui County Council Chambers to present your support for the West Maui Greenway to the Maui County Council Budget and Finance Committee. At stake is $1.5 million for this paved, freestanding path, which will allow bicycles and pedestrians to travel safely from Olowalu to Lahaina, away from cars and traffic.   Mayor Alan Arakawa put this money into his 2017 proposed budget. But unless enough Maui residents show support for it, this funding could be cut from the final budget.

Mayor

We’ve worked extremely hard to create the West Maui Greenway. We recently held a design Charrette workshop with state and county leaders, County Public Works staff, landowners and bicyclists. The shared vision is amazing! Link to the report- https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1JWkLOchrhJeDdvNFJlVlRtT1k/view?usp=sharing
