Please support Bike/Pedestrian pathways onMaui – Maui Mayor’s 2016 budget items

Maui lacks sufficient Bike/Pedestrian pathways. By supporting and implementing bike Bike/Pedestrian pathways it will help reduce traffic congestion, reduce fatalities, increase safety of our public,  support multimodal transportation, increase tourism, provide more outdoor activities,reduce obesity and become more eco-friendly There are so many benefits that help flourish our economy and support for healthy lives.

Please sign petition and support Maui Mayors 2016 budget items providing for increased safe Bike/Pedestrian pathways.

Please support by email, written testimony to the following- 

Budget and Finance Committee –

Economic Development, Energy, Agriculture, and Recreation Committee –

Infrastructure and Environmental Management Committee –

Please attend these meetings and support by providing oral testimony-

  • April 15 – Capital Improvement Projects: Police Department, Fire and Public Safety, Department of Public Works, Department of Management
  • April 16 – Capital Improvement Projects: Department of Transportation, Finance Department, Department of Parks and Recreation, Department of Environmental Management, Department of Water Supply
  • Wednesday, April 15, Lahaina Civic Center, 1840 Honoapiilani Hwy., Lahaina
  • Monday, April 20 at 6:30 p.m., Lihikai Elementary School, 335 S. Papa Ave., Kahului
  • Wednesday, April 22, Mayor Hannibal Tavares Community Center, 91 Pukalani St., Pukalani

Oral or written testimony on any agenda item will be accepted. Each testifier shall be allowed to speak for three minutes on each item. For information on testifying please visit or contact the Office of Council Services.

  2. Hey guys! I just suffered thru a ride on back side of kekaulike where they cut a bunch of rumble strips into the shoulder. This was done improperly in places where it is too narrow to ride safely. They havent done the down hill side and i wonder how it can be prevented. They rumbled the center line which makes it difficult for the cars to pass a biker safely. How can we get the state to understand the danger to walkers and bikers when there is no safe place to use the shoulders? Jerry Durkan
